Dr Nur-Run Hussein obtained her medical degree from the University of Birmingham, UK in 2001.  She subsequently completed all of her postgraduate training in psychiatry in the UK, initially in Nottingham and later in Leeds.  She became a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in January 2006 and later a fellow in 2020.  She obtained additional academic qualification in Masters of Medical Sciences in Clinical Psychiatry from the University of Nottingham and a Postgraduate diploma from University of Leeds.

Dr Nur-Run Hussein is a general adult psychiatrist.  She joined KPJ Damansara Specialist Hospital in December 2020 working as a consultant psychiatrist.   She previously worked in Qatar for as a consultant psychiatrist and was tasked to set up the Fellowship in General Adult Psychiatry training programme.  She was heavily involved in psychiatric training of other doctors and medical students up until her current post.
