Shanti Abraham runs her practice M/s Shanti Abraham & Associates in Kuala Lumpur.

A graduate from the National University of Singapore, Shanti also holds a Diploma in International Commercial Arbitration and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb). She has been in practice for over 24 years.

She handles trial and appellate work in a broad variety of practice areas including, major corporate and commercial disputes for private and public listed companies as well as civil and private wealth management matters.  For almost 2 decades, Shanti’s work has included a significant medico-legal practice where she advises and represents insurers, doctors, hospitals and patients.

Shanti is a Mediator and Trainer with both the Malaysian Mediation Centre and Singapore Mediation Centre. She is an Arbitrator and Mediator with the Asian International Arbitration Centre and an Adjudicator and Mediator with SIDREC (Securities Industry Dispute Resolution Centre).

She is also a Healthcare Mediator in Singapore in the SMC Healthcare Mediation Scheme and has trained doctors in bespoke Mediation Skills for the Scheme. She has acted as Mediator and Mediation Legal Advisor in medical negligence and healthcare related matters in both Malaysia and Singapore.

She has trained a broad spectrum of professionals and officials including the Brunei Judiciary & Myanmar Judiciary in Mediation Skills.  Additionally, she has also trained Healthcare personnel (including doctors, nurses and those in healthcare leadership) in risk management and healthcare communication skills in Malaysia.

She has completed the Program on Negotiation and Mediation at Harvard Law School in 2014. She has also completed an Advanced Mediation Training- Mediating Complex Disputes program in Harvard Law School in 2017. In 2018, Shanti was nominated for sponsorship to be trained in Investment Law & Investor -State Mediation by Department of Justice (DOJ), Hong Kong & International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID).
