Tan Sri Datin Paduka Siti Sa’diah Sheikh Bakir
Independent Non-Executive Director, KPJ Healthcare Berhad
Tan Sri Datin Paduka Siti Sadiah Binti Sheikh Bakir is an independent Non- Executive Director of KPJ Healthcare Berhad (KPJ), Malaysia’s leading provider of private healthcare services. She was the Managing Director of KPJ from March 1993 until her retirement in December 2012. Tan Sri was appointed as KPJ’s Corporate Advisor from January 2013 to December 2014 and was the Chairman and Pro-Chancellor of KPJ Healthcare University College (KPJUC). From August 2011 to December 2016 and continue to be the Pro- Chancellor of KPJUC until December 2018. She has been appointed as the Chancellor of KPJUC from January 2019.
Commencing her career with Johor Corporation (JCorp) in 1974, she was the Chief Executive of Kumpulan Perubatan (Johor) SdnBhd from 1989 until the listing of KPJ Healthcare in 1994. Aligning strategic, visionary and transformational leadership in KPJ, the Group has been able to break much new ground and achieve unprecedented success on many fronts in owning and managing private hospitals since 1981.
Tan Sri sits on various corporate Boards, namely as the Chairman of Duopharma Biotech Berhad and Nationwide Express Holdings Berhad and is an independent Director of OSK Holdings Berhad. She has been appointed as an Independent Director of Lotte Chemical Titan Holdings Berhad in February 2019.
She was an independent Non- Executive Director of Bursa Malaysia from 2004 to 2012 and was a Board member of MATRADE from 1999 to 2010. She was the Chairman of University Utara Malaysia (UUM), an eminent management university in Malaysia from June 2016 to September 2018. She was the President of Malaysian Society for Quality in health (MSQH) the healthcare accrediting body elected since 1998 until her retirement in December 2018.
Tan Sri is the Pro- Chancellor of University of Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) since November 2016. She is presently the Chairman of Awqaf Holdings Berhad, a community-driven corporate Waqf institution in Malaysia, elected since November 2017. She is also a member of the Leadership Development Committee of the Razak School of Government (RSOG). She also sits on various others boards and committees, both public and private sectors.
