Upon being admitted to the Bar of England and Wales in 2010 as a member of the Honourable Society of Middle Temple in the UK, Charlaine undertook a stint at Des Voeux Chambers in Hong Kong. Subsequently, she read in chambers with Messrs Raja, Darryl & Loh and was called to the High Court of Malaya in 2012.
Charlaine’s main areas of practice include civil and commercial litigation. Her current practice includes, among others, representing medical practitioners accused of clinical malpractice in civil suits and medical practitioners in disciplinary inquiries held by the Malaysian Medical Council. Charlaine was part of the team that was involved in the latest host of medical negligence appeals to the Federal Court which were reported in late 2017 and 2018.
Messrs Raja, Darryl & Loh’s Dispute Resolution practice group is currently ranked Tier 1 by Asia Pacific Legal 500 and received the Malaysian Litigation Law Firm of the Year award in March 2018 from Asian Legal Business.
Charlaine is, among others, an Executive Committee Member of the Medico–Legal Society of Malaysia (MLSM), a member of the National Young Lawyers’ Committee and a Trustee of the Tun Razak Foundation.
